Install or open PregnancyPal
Installing PregnancyPal means opening the web app in your browser, adding it to your home screen as a Progressive Web App, or downloading the Android app from Google Play.
You don't have to install anything to use PregnancyPal. The web app at pregnancypal.aoneahsan.com is fully featured — every tracker, every meal plan, every reminder. Most people start there. Mobile installs add offline support and native push notifications, which are useful but not required for day-one use.
Quick reference: which version is right for you
- Just trying it out? Use the web app in your browser.
- You want offline access during your commute, the hospital, or anywhere with patchy signal? Install the Android app from Google Play. On iPhone, use the web app in Safari and add it to your home screen.
- You spend a lot of time on a desktop browser? Add the browser extension as a quick-access companion.
- You like saving things to your phone home screen? Use the web app and "Add to Home Screen" — that's the PWA install.
What you can do once installed
- Open the app instantly without typing a URL.
- Get push notifications when a reminder is due (mobile installs).
- Keep logging kicks, contractions, and vitals without a connection (mobile installs).
- See your dashboard in fullscreen without browser chrome (PWA + native installs).
How to install on each platform
1. Web app (works everywhere)
- Open pregnancypal.aoneahsan.com in any modern browser (Chrome, Edge, Firefox, Safari).
- The first time you visit, you'll see a friendly welcome and a sign-in option.
- Bookmark the page or "Add to Home Screen" for one-tap access later.
The web app is the canonical experience. Every feature is here.
2. Add to Home Screen (PWA — Android & iOS browsers)
- Open the web app in Chrome (Android) or Safari (iOS).
- Tap the browser menu → Add to Home Screen (Chrome) or Share → Add to Home Screen (Safari).
- Confirm the icon name and tap Add.
- The PregnancyPal icon now lives on your home screen. Tap it to open the app fullscreen.
PWAs feel native — no browser bar, fast launches — but their offline support and notifications are more limited than native installs.
3. Native Android (Google Play)
The Android app is available on Google Play:
- Open the PregnancyPal listing on Google Play.
- Tap Install.
- Open PregnancyPal from your app drawer and sign in.
Prefer not to install a native app? The web app's "Add to Home Screen" PWA (instructions above) is a lighter alternative on Android.
4. iPhone & iPad (web app in Safari)
There is no native iOS app. On iPhone and iPad, PregnancyPal runs as the web app in Safari — open pregnancypal.aoneahsan.com and add it to your home screen as a PWA (instructions above) for the closest-to-native feel.
5. Browser extension
The browser extension is a companion to the main app — quick reference, a small popup with this week's highlights, and content access on the web. To install:
- Download the extension package from the developer or (once published) the Chrome Web Store.
- Follow Chrome's "Load unpacked" or one-click install flow.
- Sign in inside the extension popup using the Chrome Identity API (this avoids storing passwords inside the extension).
The extension is not required to use PregnancyPal — it's purely additive.
Examples
- You're at a 20-week ultrasound appointment with no Wi-Fi and shaky cell signal. Mobile install lets you keep logging without losing data; the queue syncs when signal returns.
- Your partner uses a desktop all day at work and wants a quick way to check on this week's milestones. The browser extension popup is perfect for this.
- You're not sure you'll use the app every day yet. Stick with the web app first — there's nothing to install and everything works the same.
Tips
- On iPhone, the PWA install via "Add to Home Screen" is the way to use PregnancyPal on iOS — there's no native iOS app, and the PWA gives you most of the benefit of a native install.
- If you've used PregnancyPal on the web and switch to a native install later, sign in with the same account — your data syncs automatically.
- If your phone has limited storage, the PWA is much smaller than a native install.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need to install anything to use PregnancyPal?
No. The web app at pregnancypal.aoneahsan.com works in every modern browser without any download. Installs add convenience and offline support but aren't required.
Where do I get the Android app?
From Google Play — the official PregnancyPal listing. Installing from Google Play means the app is verified by Google and updates arrive automatically, so there's no need to sideload an APK.
Is there an iOS app?
There's no native iOS app. On iPhone and iPad, use the web app in Safari and add it to your home screen as a PWA — the experience is very close to native for most features, and your data syncs the same as everywhere else.
Can I use the browser extension without signing in?
The extension uses Chrome's built-in identity flow, so you sign in once with your Google account and the extension uses that token. Your password never goes into the extension. You can sign out from the extension's options page anytime.
Will my data sync between web and mobile?
Yes — data syncs automatically through your account. Sign in with the same Google account on every device.
Is PregnancyPal available offline on the web?
The web app caches some assets so it loads quickly, but creating, editing, and viewing your live data needs a connection on the web. The native Android app supports full offline mode and queues changes for sync.
How big is the install?
The native Android build is small — well under 30 MB. The PWA install is even smaller. The browser extension is a few hundred kilobytes.
