Posting & visibility
Posting in PregnancyPal lets you write posts and comments inside the communities you've joined, add tags, and like others' contributions. One thing to know up front: posting is not anonymous â every post and every comment is attributed to your display name and avatar.
Sharing in a supportive group can be a real comfort during pregnancy or while trying to conceive. PregnancyPal makes that easy, but it's important to be clear-eyed about visibility: there is no anonymous mode. When you post or comment, other members see your name. That's not a problem â it's just something to know before you write, so you can decide what you're comfortable sharing.
What you can do with postingâ
- Create a post in any community you've joined, with a title, content, and optional tags.
- Comment on posts to reply and join the conversation.
- Like posts and comments, and see like counts and comment counts.
- Open a post's detail with the View button to read its full thread of comments.
- Delete your own posts and comments (community admins and the original authors can also remove content).
- Search the Feed across post content, tags, and author names.
- Track your own contributions in the My Activity tab.
How to create a postâ
- Open the Community feature (route
/community) and make sure you've joined at least one group. - Tap "Create Post" to open the post dialog.
- Select a community you've joined to post into.
- Write a title that sums up what you're sharing.
- Write your content in the body.
- Add tags (optional) to help others find and filter your post.
- Post. Your name and avatar appear on the post card, along with a timestamp, your content, tags, a Like button with count, and a comment count.
Examplesâ
- Asking the group a question â You create a post in your due-date cohort titled with your question, add a tag or two, and others reply in the comments. Their replies â and yours â all show names.
- Liking and commenting â You read a post that resonates, tap Like, and add a short comment of encouragement. Both the like and the comment are attributed to you.
- Tidying up â You decide a post no longer reflects how you feel, open it, and delete it. You can remove your own posts and comments at any time.
Tipsâ
- Share at your own comfort level. Because your name shows, choose a display name and a level of detail you're at peace with others seeing.
- Use a clear title. It's the first thing people read on the post card and in search results.
- Tag thoughtfully. Tags feed the Feed's search and filtering, so a couple of relevant tags help the right people find you.
- Comments are a flat list. There are no nested reply threads, so quote or @-mention context in your comment if you're responding to a specific point.
- Edit by deleting and reposting if needed. You control your own content and can remove it whenever you like.
Frequently asked questionsâ
Can I post anonymously?â
No. PregnancyPal has no anonymous posting. Every post and comment is attributed to your display name and avatar, and other members can see who wrote what. Share with that in mind.
Who can see my posts?â
Members of the community you posted into can see your post in their Feed, along with your name, avatar, timestamp, content, and tags. The Feed is searchable by content, tags, and author names.
Can I delete a post or comment after sharing it?â
Yes. You can delete your own posts and comments. Community admins and the original authors can also remove content.
Do comments have nested replies?â
No. Comments are a flat list under each post â there are no threaded or nested replies. To respond to a specific person, make that clear in your comment text.
Can I like things?â
Yes. You can like posts and comments, and each shows a like count. Post cards also show a comment count and a View button to open the full thread.
How do I find my own posts?â
Open the My Activity tab, which collects the posts you've shared so you can revisit or manage them.
Should I share medical details?â
That's your choice, but remember it isn't anonymous and other members aren't clinicians. Share what you're comfortable having visible, and take any health guidance to your provider.
What this feature does NOT doâ
- It does not offer anonymous posting. Your display name and avatar are always attached to your posts and comments â there is no hidden or anonymous mode.
- It does not give medical advice. Replies come from peers, not professionals, and may not apply to you.
- It does not support nested reply threads. Comments are a single flat list per post.
- It does not verify anything members share, and it does not protect you from your own oversharing â that's your judgment to exercise.
PregnancyPal communities are peer spaces, not medical advice and not a substitute for professional care. Anything you read here â including health suggestions from other members â should be checked with your healthcare provider, the only one who can advise on your specific situation.
