Education hub

The Education hub in PregnancyPal is a learning area at /education organized into four tabs — Articles, Videos, Quizzes, and Tools — where you can read, watch, test your knowledge, and use a small set of interactive helpers.

When you want to understand something about your pregnancy, the Education hub is where to look. It gathers readable articles, short videos, light knowledge-check quizzes, and a handful of practical tools into one place, all framed as education. Browse by what you feel like doing — reading, watching, quizzing, or using a tool — and learn at your own pace.

Everything here is for self-education. It helps you ask better questions and feel more informed; it does not assess your health or replace your provider.

What you can do with the Education hub

  • Read Articles, filtered by category — such as First Trimester, Nutrition, Labor & Delivery, Exercise, and Medical — and search across them. Each article shows a read-time, author, summary, and tags, with a bookmark toggle.
  • Watch Videos, searchable, each showing a thumbnail, title, duration, and instructor, embedded from YouTube.
  • Take Quizzes — multiple-choice knowledge checks with explanations so you learn why an answer is right.
  • Use Tools, a small set including a Due Date Calculator, a Pregnancy Weight Gain helper, the Kick Counter, and the Contraction Timer.
  • Bookmark articles you want to come back to, using the bookmark toggle.

How to use the Education hub

  1. Open the hub: go to the /education route.
  2. Pick a tab: Articles, Videos, Quizzes, or Tools.
  3. In Articles, filter by category (First Trimester, Nutrition, Labor & Delivery, Exercise, Medical) or search, then open one to read; tap the bookmark toggle to save it.
  4. In Videos, search or scan the thumbnails, then play a video — it is embedded from YouTube and shows its duration and instructor.
  5. In Quizzes, answer the multiple-choice questions and read the explanation after each to understand the reasoning.
  6. In Tools, choose the Due Date Calculator, Pregnancy Weight Gain helper, Kick Counter, or Contraction Timer.

Examples

  • Learning a topic end to end — You open the Articles tab, filter to Nutrition, read a couple of pieces, bookmark one for later, then switch to the Videos tab to watch a short clip on the same theme. Different formats, one subject.
  • A quick knowledge check — Between appointments you take a Quiz. After each multiple-choice question you read the explanation, so even the answers you miss teach you something.
  • Reaching for a tool — In the Tools tab you open the Due Date Calculator to sense-check a date, then later use the full Kick Counter during a quiet evening to log your baby's movements.

Tips

  • Use article categories and search together. Filter to a category like Labor & Delivery first, then search within it to find a specific topic fast.
  • Bookmark before you forget. The bookmark toggle on each article saves it so you do not have to hunt for a good read again.
  • Read the quiz explanations even when you are right. The explanation is the real learning — it tells you the reasoning, not just the score.
  • Remember the two full tools. The Kick Counter and Contraction Timer are the two complete interactive tools — open their pages for the detailed how-to.
  • Your due date is already computed. PregnancyPal calculates your due date from your last-period date during onboarding, so the Due Date Calculator is for exploring, not for setting up your profile.

Frequently asked questions

What are the four tabs in the Education hub?

Articles, Videos, Quizzes, and Tools. Each is a different way to learn — reading, watching, self-testing, and using interactive helpers.

How are articles organized?

By category — for example First Trimester, Nutrition, Labor & Delivery, Exercise, and Medical — and they are searchable. Each article shows a read-time, author, summary, and tags, and you can bookmark it.

Where do the videos come from?

Videos are embedded from YouTube. Each is searchable and shows a thumbnail, title, duration, and instructor.

Are the quizzes a test of my health?

No. Quizzes are multiple-choice knowledge checks for self-education, with explanations to help you learn. They do not assess your health or your pregnancy.

Which tools are in the hub?

A small set: a Due Date Calculator, a Pregnancy Weight Gain helper, the Kick Counter, and the Contraction Timer. The Kick Counter and Contraction Timer are the two full interactive tools.

Do I need to use the Due Date Calculator to set my due date?

No. Your due date is calculated for you from your last-period date during onboarding. The calculator in the hub is there if you want to explore a date yourself.

What this feature does NOT do

  • Does not assess or diagnose your health. Quizzes are knowledge checks for learning, not evaluations of you or your pregnancy.
  • Does not give personalized medical advice. Articles and videos are general education for a broad audience, not guidance tailored to your situation.
  • Does not replace clinical tools or measurements. The Due Date Calculator and Pregnancy Weight Gain helper are educational helpers, not clinical instruments — your provider's dating and assessments take precedence.
  • Does not predict outcomes. Nothing in the hub forecasts how your pregnancy or labor will go.

The Education hub is for self-education only — its articles, videos, quizzes, and tools are not medical advice and cannot evaluate your health. Always confirm anything that affects your care, including your due date and weight goals, with your own healthcare provider.
