Account security
Account security in PregnancyPal is the page at
/profile/securitywhere you sign in with your Google account, see your account information, change your password, and find the controls that protect access to your data.
Keeping your pregnancy journey private matters. This page brings together the few things that govern access to your account: which email you sign in with, when your account was created, when it was last updated, how to change your password, and where to go if you ever decide to delete everything.
It's deliberately simple. You sign in with Google, your email is shown so you always know which account you're using, and the sensitive actions are kept clearly separated so nothing happens by accident.
What you can do on the security page
- See your sign-in email, shown read-only so you always know which account is active.
- Check your account-created date and the time your account was last updated.
- Change your password through the Change Password action.
- Find the Danger Zone, where the Delete Account button lives behind a confirmation dialog.
- Confirm you're signed in with the right Google account before doing anything sensitive.
How to keep your account secure
- Sign in with Google: PregnancyPal uses your Google account to sign you in. Use the Google account you want tied to your pregnancy data.
- Open the security page: go to
/profile/securityfrom your account menu. - Check your email: confirm the read-only email shown is the account you intend to use.
- Change your password when needed: tap Change Password and follow the prompts.
- Review your account dates: the created date and last-updated time help you confirm this is your account.
- Use the Danger Zone carefully: the Delete Account button opens a dialog that lists exactly what will be removed before anything happens. Read it fully before confirming.
Examples
- Confirming the right account — You share a tablet at home and want to be sure you're in your own account. You open
/profile/security, see your email displayed read-only, and confirm it's yours before logging a symptom. - Refreshing your password — You decide to update your password as routine hygiene. You tap Change Password, set a new one, and your account info shows an updated last-updated time.
- Pausing before deletion — You consider deleting your account, open the Danger Zone, and the confirmation dialog lists every category of data that would be removed. You decide to keep your account for now and simply close the dialog.
Tips
- Protect your Google account. Because sign-in is through Google, the strongest thing you can do is secure your Google account itself with a strong password.
- Check the email before sensitive actions. The read-only email is there so you never act on the wrong account.
- Treat the Danger Zone as final. Deleting your account removes your data per the retention policy — read the dialog before confirming.
- Note your account dates. The created and last-updated timestamps are a quick sanity check that your account is intact.
- Sign out on shared devices. If others use the same device, sign out when you're done.
Frequently asked questions
How do I sign in to PregnancyPal?
You sign in with your Google account. There's no separate username to remember — Google handles the sign-in, and PregnancyPal shows you which email is active.
Can I change my email address?
Your sign-in email is shown read-only because it's tied to the Google account you use to log in. To use a different email, you'd sign in with a different Google account.
Does PregnancyPal support two-factor authentication (2FA)?
Not yet. Two-factor authentication inside PregnancyPal is not available at this time. The most effective extra protection today is to enable 2-step verification on your Google account itself, since that's how you sign in.
What do the account-created and last-updated times mean?
The created date is when your account was first made. The last-updated time reflects recent changes to your account information. Both are shown so you can verify your account.
How do I change my password?
Use the Change Password action on the security page and follow the prompts.
Where do I delete my account?
The Delete Account button is in the Danger Zone on this page. It opens a dialog listing exactly what will be removed. The full breakdown and retention policy are on the delete account page.
Is my data encrypted?
PregnancyPal keeps your data tied to your account behind your Google sign-in. For details on what happens to your data when you delete your account, including the encrypted backup retention window, see the delete account page.
What this feature does NOT do
- It does not offer in-app two-factor authentication (2FA) yet. Secure your Google account directly for now.
- It does not let you change your sign-in email in the app — it's read-only and tied to your Google account.
- It does not monitor for suspicious logins or send you security alerts.
- It does not recover a lost Google account. Account recovery is handled by Google, not PregnancyPal.
- It is not a medical safety feature. Securing your account protects your privacy; it does not provide any health monitoring or assessment.
PregnancyPal is a personal organizing companion, not medical advice. Account security protects your data and privacy — it does not replace professional care. For any health concern, contact your healthcare provider directly.
