Install on Android
The PregnancyPal Android app is a real native app you install from Google Play that wraps the full PregnancyPal experience in a native shell â with edge-to-edge display, push notifications, native deep links, and the phone's own share sheet.
If you carry an Android phone, the native app is the most comfortable way to use PregnancyPal day to day. It lives on your home screen, sends reminders through the phone's notification system, and shares your data using the same share sheet you already use everywhere else. Under the hood it's the same PregnancyPal you'd open in a browser â your account, your data, and every feature carry across.
You don't have to install anything, though. PregnancyPal works fully in a web browser too, so the choice is about convenience, not capability.
What you can do with the Android appâ
- Install once and open from your home screen, like any other app.
- Get push notifications for appointment reminders, daily check-in nudges, and movement reminders (delivered via OneSignal through Android's notification system).
- Use edge-to-edge display â the app draws cleanly under the status and navigation bars on modern Android.
- Open deep links â
pregnancypal://links jump straight to a section like your profile, the community, or the blog (see Deep linking). - Share with the native share sheet â the Android app uses your phone's own share menu (see Sharing & PDF reports).
- Sign in to the same account you use on the web, so your data is already there.
How to install PregnancyPal on Androidâ
- Open Google Play on your Android phone or tablet.
- Search for "PregnancyPal", or open the listing directly: play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.aoneahsan.pregnancypal.
- Tap Install and wait for the download to finish.
- Tap Open (or find the PregnancyPal icon in your app drawer / home screen).
- Sign in with your existing account, or create one if this is your first time â see Create your account.
- Allow notifications when asked, if you want appointment and check-in reminders. You can change this later in your phone settings or in Notifications.
That's it. The app loads your pregnancy profile, dashboard, and everything you've logged.
How to keep using the web app insteadâ
If you prefer not to install anything â or you're on a desktop, a work computer, or an iPhone â open pregnancypal.aoneahsan.com in any modern browser and sign in. It's the same app with the same data. See the full Installation guide and Dashboard tour to get oriented.
Examplesâ
- New to PregnancyPal on Android â You install from Google Play, tap Open, create an account with your email, allow notifications, and set up your pregnancy profile. The next morning you get a gentle daily check-in reminder.
- Switching from web to the app â You've been using PregnancyPal in Chrome on your laptop. You install the Android app, sign in with the same email, and every appointment, weight entry, and note is already waiting â nothing to re-enter.
- Sharing a device â You use the web app on a shared family tablet at home and the Android app on your personal phone. Both stay in sync because both read from the same cloud account.
Tipsâ
- Use the same sign-in method on every device. If you signed up with Google on the web, use Google in the app too, so it lands on the same account.
- Turn on notifications during install if reminders matter to you â it's the one permission that makes the app feel proactive instead of passive.
- Add a home-screen shortcut even if you mostly use the web, so PregnancyPal is one tap away.
- Keep the app updated through Google Play so you get the latest fixes and content.
- You need a connection to sign in. The first launch and sign-in require internet â see Offline mode for what works without one.
Frequently asked questionsâ
Is the Android app free?â
Yes â installing PregnancyPal from Google Play costs nothing. You'll find it on the listing at play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.aoneahsan.pregnancypal.
Do I need the app, or can I just use the browser?â
You can use either. The web app at pregnancypal.aoneahsan.com is the primary way to use PregnancyPal and works in any modern browser. The Android app adds home-screen convenience, push notifications, deep links, and the native share sheet.
Will my data move between the app and the web?â
Yes. Your data lives in your account in the cloud, not on a single device. Sign in with the same account anywhere and your information is there.
What Android version do I need?â
PregnancyPal targets modern Android with edge-to-edge display. If your phone runs a current version of Android and can install from Google Play, you're fine. Very old devices may not be supported.
Does the app work without internet?â
Only partly. It can open and show recently loaded data from a local cache, but signing in and saving new entries need a connection. See Offline mode for the honest breakdown.
Is there an iPhone app?â
Not yet. There's no native iOS app â iPhone and iPad users use the web app in Safari. See Using PregnancyPal on iPhone & iPad.
What this feature does NOT doâ
- It is not a medical device or a diagnostic tool. PregnancyPal is a tracking and organization companion for your pregnancy, not a substitute for prenatal care.
- It does not work fully offline. Sign-in and saving data require an internet connection; only a cached view is available without one.
- It does not monitor your health in the background or alert emergency services. It will never decide on its own that you need medical attention.
- It does not diagnose, predict outcomes, or replace your provider's advice. Anything it shows is for your own awareness.
PregnancyPal is a companion, not a clinician. For any medical question or concern about your pregnancy, contact your healthcare provider or your local emergency number. This app does not provide medical advice.
