Sharing & PDF reports

Sharing in PregnancyPal means two things: spreading the word about the app with a Share button (an in-app share window on the web, or the phone's native share sheet on Android), and sharing your own health data with a provider by exporting a PDF report.

There are two distinct kinds of "share" in PregnancyPal, and it helps to keep them separate. The first is sharing a link to PregnancyPal itself — telling a friend about the app, or posting it. The second is sharing your health information with someone who needs it, like your provider; for that, the PDF health report is the right tool, not a social share. This page covers both.

What you can do with sharing

  • Share PregnancyPal on the web through an in-app share window with social options — X, Facebook, LinkedIn, WhatsApp, Telegram, Reddit, and Email — plus a copy-link button.
  • Share from the Android app using your phone's own native share sheet, the same menu you use across other apps.
  • Copy a link to PregnancyPal to paste anywhere.
  • Export a health report PDF of your logged data — vitals, appointments, weight, mood, symptoms, with an optional date range.
  • Hand the PDF to your provider as a tidy record, which is the recommended way to share your health data.

How sharing works

  1. Tap the Share button wherever it appears in PregnancyPal.
  2. On the web, an in-app share window opens with social buttons and a copy-link button. Pick a network to share to, or copy the link.
  3. On the Android app, the phone's native share sheet opens instead, letting you share through any app you have installed.
  4. To share your health data, don't use the social share — instead open the report export and generate a PDF.

How to export and share a health report PDF

  1. Open the health report export (see Export a health report PDF).
  2. Choose the sections to include — vitals, appointments, weight, mood, symptoms.
  3. Set an optional date range so the report covers the period your provider cares about.
  4. Generate the PDF and download it.
  5. Send or hand it to your provider — by email, a patient portal, or in person at your appointment.

Examples

  • Telling a friend on the web — You tap Share on your laptop, the in-app window opens, you pick WhatsApp, and a message with the PregnancyPal link is ready to send.
  • Sharing from your Android phone — You tap Share in the app and your familiar native share sheet appears; you send the link through whatever app you prefer.
  • Sharing data with your OB — Before a checkup, you export a PDF covering the last month of weight, symptoms, and appointments, and bring it so your provider sees a clean summary instead of scrolling through the app.

Tips

  • Use the PDF, not a social share, for health data. Social sharing is for the app link; your private health information belongs in the report you give your provider.
  • Set a date range on the PDF so the report is focused and easy to read.
  • Copy-link is always there on the web if you'd rather paste the link yourself than pick a network.
  • The native share sheet on Android lets you reach any installed app, including messaging and notes.
  • Double-check what's in the PDF before sending so you're sharing exactly the sections you intend.

Frequently asked questions

What's the difference between the web share window and the native share sheet?

On the web, PregnancyPal shows its own in-app share window with social buttons (X, Facebook, LinkedIn, WhatsApp, Telegram, Reddit, Email) and a copy-link button. On the Android app, it opens your phone's native share sheet instead. Both are for sharing a link to PregnancyPal.

How do I share my health data with my doctor?

Export a health report PDF and give that to your provider. The PDF is the intended way to share your logged data — see Export a health report PDF.

Does the social share send my health data?

No. The share window and native share sheet share a link to PregnancyPal, not your private health entries. Your data is only shared when you deliberately export and send a PDF.

Yes. The web share window includes a copy-link button so you can paste the link wherever you want.

Does sharing work on iPhone?

On the iOS web app, sharing uses the in-app web share window (with social options and copy-link), the same as any browser. There's no native iOS app — see Using PregnancyPal on iPhone & iPad.

Is the PDF report private?

The PDF is generated for you to download and share intentionally. Once you send it to someone, sharing is in your hands — only send it to people you trust, like your provider. Keep your account itself secure with Security.

What this feature does NOT do

  • Social sharing does not send your health data — it only shares a link to the PregnancyPal app.
  • PregnancyPal does not automatically send your data to your provider. You choose to export a PDF and share it yourself.
  • The PDF report is a record you share manually, not a live feed or a medical submission to any system.
  • PregnancyPal does not diagnose, interpret your data clinically, or replace prenatal care. A report is information for you and your provider to discuss.

PregnancyPal is a companion, not a clinician. For any medical question or concern about your pregnancy, contact your healthcare provider or your local emergency number. This app does not provide medical advice.
